Individual Volunteers
Poverello House would not be able to offer the wide variety of services they provide without the daily assistance of the wonderful volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to join us Monday through Friday, between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available which includes assisting in the preparation of the meal, coordinating activities for our clients, assisting in clean up and beautification of Poverello House, and assisting in sorting and distribution of donations.

Student Volunteers
Students interested in volunteering at Poverello House for school credit must attend a volunteer orientation before volunteering. Poverello House offers student volunteer orientations during the months of January through March, and August through October every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and the second and fourth Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m. All volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteer Groups
Groups of 3 or more interested in volunteering at Poverello House must call and speak to the Volunteer Coordinator to set up a date and time to come in. To schedule a group, it is best to give as much notice as possible. Groups must designate one person as a leader who will be responsible for attending one volunteer orientation for the group.

Holiday Volunteers
We appreciate our community volunteers, families and groups and wouldn't be able to serve the vast number of clients without them, however on Thankgiving and Christmas we don't accept groups larger than three or more. We start reserving slots for volunteers the first Tuesday in November for Thanksgiving Day and the first Tuesday in December for Christmas Day.
